Come On!

Mississippi school sued for canceling prom over lesbian student - CNN.com

Okay, I'm sorry, but aren't we to the point where we are just happy that someone has a date to the prom?

Well, no, wait. Fact is, I don't care two fucks about the prom, but do care that people in this world love and are loved by someone. Isn't that enough?

Christ, I am tired of this senseless struggle to get every one to conform to the ravings of some 2000 year old ascetic from the deserts of the Middle East. Aren't we civilized enough to recognize that love - any love - improves the world?

I mean really, is there something, anything, bad that can be associated with love? Well, I mean other than my first two marriages.

  1. Common ground I see...Biology, ok, biochemistry, can't we just accept 6-9% of human population throughout human recorded history has shouldered attraction to the opposite sex. Design by a higher intellect which would then condemn that created. Hogwash, acceptance/understanding thru education is the only answer which brings enlightenment to our masses, especially our young. Forget the old farts regurgitating misconceptions handed down from other misguided souls siting 'literal' interpretations of prohibitions against homosexuality.

It really is time people of understanding step forward to promote acceptance of those in the minority orientation. Do we really want to allow our teenagers attempting to understand who they are, be discriminated against, or worse, harm come their way, through violence by prejudice.

I salute the young woman standing for herself in Mississippi and others like her who don't have the courage to speak out. Also, equally, to the father who supports his daughter to stand up the masses to highlight the error of their ways. The father has given her something more valuable than riches, confidence to be herself. Hallelujah!!!
